Hethersett High School warmed the hearts of all those in St Remigius Parish Church with a Christmas concert on a cold, wet and windy evening.

The joy inside the church acted as the perfect foil for the bleakness outside with pupils displaying their musical skills as part of what Head of Music Dave Brook described as “part of their life’s musical journey.”

The concert was a mix of traditional Christmas fare interlaced with resounding pounding from the drum club and even a medley of Harry Potter music.

“We are very fortunate to have some outstanding musical talent at the school and the students are to be congratulated for their dedication and enthusiasm in creating events such as the Christmas concert for students, staff, parents and the overall community to enjoy,” Mr Brook said.

He praised the links set up during the year between the school and the community which included a partnership with Norfolk Concerts, a charity based in Hethersett, which supports music in local schools by arranging for professional musicians from Europe and North America to visit and coach students.

In addition the High School also gave performances to local infant and junior schools during the year and this Christmas reprised some of the music from the concert at Mulbarton Infant and Hethersett Junior Schools.
