It also includes the centre's regular offerings in information technology and basic skills.

The programme got off to a flying start at a family learning day at Barford Primary School on Saturday. Pirates was the theme, and it attracted more than 80 children and 50 accompanying adults. All joined in making pirate hats and treasure chests, learning to dance jigs and playing outdoor games.

The Norfolk Family Learning Team from the adult education service organised most of the activities, supporting the learning centre team and Jane Bartram, extended schools co-ordinator.
