PLANS for the future of Attleborough will go on display at a public exhibition this month in the town hall.

A team of planners from Breckland Council will be available to answer any queries and to gather views from residents at the event, from 3pm to 7pm on Monday, February 25.

The exhibition will outline the planning strategy for Attleborough, including plans for up to 4,000 new homes, a share of 1,700 new jobs with Snetterton and demands for more retail, including a new supermarket for the town. It will also outline the infrastructure needed to accompany the proposed growth of the town.

People will also be able to see the entire Local Development Framework (LDF) for the whole of the district, as well as surrounding villages including Great Ellingham and Old Buckenham.

“This is such an important phase in planning for the future development of Breckland and its future prosperity,” said Ann Steward, executive member for environment and planning at Breckland Council.

“These changes will affect us all for many years to come and it's important that we take the opportunity now to work towards getting it right.”

The exhibition follows well-attended LDF events at Old Buckenham and Thetford - the six-week public consultation will conclude at noon on Monday, March

10.

Copies of Breckland's Core Strategy and Development and Control Policies (DPD) will be sent to all parish and town councils, and will be available at council offices, libraries and local 'presence offices'.

An interactive version of the core strategy is available on the authority's website at www.breckland.gov.uk
