Scores of youngsters had a great time yesterday celebrating National Play Day in south Norfolk.

Organised by the district council, the Give Us A Go fun day at Hingham sports ground was aimed at children aged up to 16 and attracted about 200 participants.

It was one of only a handful of events in the eastern region chosen by Play England, which is leading the celebrations, and saw the official launch of Raising the Game, the district council's new project for play.

Activities on offer ranged from a slippery slide and climbing wall, to archery and a ball pond, and there was also a display of the street sport parkour.
