Derek Slade, 61, who ran St George's School in Wicklewood, near Wymondham, and then another in Great Finborough, near Stowmarket, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court this morning.
On Friday he was convicted of 13 offences including serious sexual assault, indecent assault and actual bodily harm.
He had previously pleaded guilty to a string of indecent assaults, child pornography offences and having a false passport.
Slade, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, will not be considered for parole until he has served at least half of his time in custody and will not be released until he has completed two-thirds of his sentence.
