LOSING a job you love is a bitter blow, especially when it is through no fault of your own.

So it is no surprise that florist Moya Topsom felt distraught when her employers announced they were giving up their high street business because of soaring overheads and she would soon be made redundant.

The 21-year-old had joined the staff at Jasmine florists at Wymondham as a teenager

three-and-a-half years ago and worked her way up to become the manageress.

But instead of being downhearted, she showed true grit and determination by resolving to branch out on her own.

She said: “I found a perfect shop on the Hart's Farm estate where I have started to trade again. Here, I can offer the same quality flowers without the high street prices.”

Her former employers, Nigel Crane and Pam Reeve, did all they could to help the young entrepreneur with her new venture.

She said: “They kindly let me have the company's name and telephone number and the rest of the stock to help me on my way.”

“I trained at Easton College for three years and achieved the highest grades possible there. Pam has taught me everything

she knows about floristry and Nigel has helped with the paperwork,” added Miss Topsom.

She opened her new shop

after a whirlwind of activity, with friends and family pitching in to help.
