Charity trustees are hosting an open day at the historic Abbey Meadows in Wymondham to allow people to walk the historic site.
Public access is not normally allowed at the meadows, a registered wildlife site beside the River Tiffey which is used for grazing. And the event will enable people to have a closer look at an ancient ha-ha ditch and flint wall which was recently restored, at a cost of 55,000.
The work was carried out by The Rev William Papillon Charity, whose trustees are inviting visitors to view the abbey and its ruins in conjunction with Norfolk's archaeological department, English Heritage and Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
There will be guided tours of the visible and covered ruins and historical information will be available.
The open day runs from 10am-3pm on Saturday May 9. Entry is free and children must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs or vehicles should be taken onto the meadows.
A second public open day is planned later this year.
