Many a glass was raised in celebration at the Green Dragon pub in Wymondham at the bank holiday weekend.

The 14th century tavern hosted its twice Spring Real Ale, Cider, and Music Festival from Friday to Monday, drawing at least 300 people each day.

Landlord Justin Harvey said he was delighted with the success of the festival, which mostly took place in the pub's garden.

He said: 'It was a brilliant weekend. We were extremely lucky with the weather.

'Everyone really behaved themselves and we all had a great time.'

Mr Harvey said there were more than 60 types of beer, ale and cider on offer for people to try.

He said: 'We had a really good mix of local and drinks on offer.'

Musicians were a constant draw, filing the garden with the sounds of rock, skiffle and folk.

Performers included James Summerhill, Miserable Man, Lovin' Handfull and Starbuck Friend.

Other musicians who took the stage included Davey Whale, The A13 All Stars and Those Darned Mouldy Figs.

Visitors also enjoyed a barbecue in the garden.

Mr Harvey said he wanted to thank everyone who was involved in the festival.

He said: 'We just want to say a big thank you for everyone for coming along and behaving themselves so well, and to all the staff who worked incredibly hard over the weekend.

The Spring Real Ale, Cider, and Music Festival started seven years ago, taking place twice a year.

Mr Harvey said preparations would soon be underway for the next event, which would take place over the August bank holiday weekend from August 26 to August 29.

'We've got a week's off and then we're starting to plan the next one.'

Mr Harvey said he had just signed a new five-year lease at the pub.

The Green Dragon was named South Norfolk Council's 'community pub of the year 2013', and the venue was named 'rural pub of the year by the Norwich and Norfolk branch of CAMRA last year.
