Emergency services were called in to free a person trapped after a car overturned on a residential street in Attleborough.

The occupant of the vehicle, which was on its roof, had to be released by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment following the accident in Cyprus Road at 12.30pm today.

Fire crews from Attleborough and Wymondham were called to the scene of the crash which is not believed to have involved another vehicle.

Police and ambulance were also called to the accident near to the junction with Whitworth Avenue. Cyprus Road was closed while investigations continued and for the vehicle to be recovered.

Attleborough Community Speed Watch volunteers have previously carried out speed checks on the road after concerns were raised by residents about traffic speed.
