Brave Wymondham winter ice bucket challenge raises cash for cancer support
Daring fundraisers who endured an ice shower in the middle of winter have raised more than £1,500 for cancer support.
A team from shops and businesses along Fairland Street in Wymondham braved the ice bucket challenge at the Christmas lights switch-on on December 6 - when temperatures dipped to three degrees Celecius.
Their feat was in aid of Star Throwers, a Wymondham-based cancer charity.
A cheque for £1,505 - boosted by sales from a raffle and cake sales - was presented to Les King, charity patron, this week.
Representatives from Bartrams, Myhills, Anglian Internet, Prioriy, Frist Footing, Marola’s and Clements took part.
Les King, patron of the charity, said: “I want to thank the team who got involved with this, it was really good of them to take part in this challenge and we are very grateful for the funds.”
