Preparations for this year's Attleborough carnival are well underway with a week's worth of events planned between July 6 and 13.

Events confirmed are Sunday, July 6, a dog show and car boot sale, Monday, July 7, carnival prince and princess with children's fashion, Wednesday, July 9, Attleborough talent show, Thursday, July 10, rose queen and adult fashion, Saturday, July 12, story and craft time for the under 10s and Party on the Park, and Sunday, July 13, carnival parade and family fun day.

The carnival and the Attleborough Players have teamed up and are working together to make this year a success. The Attleborough Players are showing their next production 'Allo Allo', based on the hit television series, on July 3, 4 and 5, running up to the carnival events the following week.

Carnival chairman Rod Green said: “This year the committee want to turn the carnival into a family based event, providing something for everyone, with local groups getting involved, raising the profile of the community in and around Attleborough.”

Following response from the town, he said there will be both a walking and motorised procession. Groups wishing to take part or have a stall on the field should contact the committee.

All events, excluding Party on the Park, will be 'entry by programme'. Programmes will be sold all over the town in advance and during carnival week at a cost of £2.50 each. Programmes will contain details of all carnival events.
