THERE will be another selection of slides of old adverts from the 1930s to 1950s featuring local businesses at the Regal Experience's film show on Sunday at the Wymondham Ex-Services' Club.

The slides will add to a great bill, which includes two evocative shorts - one about leisure pursuits of ordinary people in 1939 and the other showing wartime images of Britain to a commentary by Laurence Olivier. The main feature is the powerful Love Me or Leave Me, starring James Cagney and the wonderful Doris Day in a rare dramatic role as 1920s torch singer Ruth Etting.

The Regal Experience Group has already received many enquiries for its October show when The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle, starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, will be screened. Tickets for that show will be available at this Sunday's screening. The film highlights the career of Norwich born and bred Vernon Castle, who became an international celebrity dancer inspiring Fred Astaire and an air ace in world war one. Ava, Fred Astaire's daughter, will be attending.

Tickets for this Sunday's Love Me or Leave Me screening are available from Maureen Dodman on 01953 605593 or Michael Armstrong on 01953 603246 and at the Wymondham Heritage Museum. They are priced at £4.50 (£3.50 concessions).
