A man has been accused of not allowing his wife to get her hair cut as part of a series of offences he is said to have committed against her.

Paul Leadbetter has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour, which also includes stopping her seeing friends and telling her what to wear between January 2022 and April 2026.

Norwich Crown Court heard the 57-year-old is also accused of intentional strangulation and assault by beating against the woman, both incidents of which are said to have taken place in Wymondham on April 9 this year.

Leadbetter denied all three charges when he appeared at court earlier this week.

A trial, expected to last five days, has been fixed for June 19 2028.
