A new woodland wedding venue for "out of the ordinary couples" is launching near Wymondham.

Lavender & Wild Weddings is opening its new "intimate, outdoor venue" at the Gallops in Hingham to "fill a gap in the market".

The venue will welcome its first newlyweds in the spring of next year and will be open until the autumn for weddings.

Georgia Shackleton, the wedding coordinator at the venue, said: "It’s a really exciting opportunity for me and I couldn't pass it up

"I was at the Gallops for a winter walk just after Covid and got chatting with the owners.

"When I told them I worked in the industry they asked if I would want to do weddings in their beautiful woodland that's currently used for glamping."

Ms Shackleton, a freelance copywriter who lives in the area, claims the venue is the "first of its kind in Hingham".

"With no other wedding venues nearby, I'm confident we’re filling a gap in the market for desirable, beautiful outdoor weddings that are off-grid and stylish," she added.

To help couples see what the venue will look like for a wedding, Lavender & Wild is putting on the Woodland Wedding Fair.

The 20 exhibitors include Peaky Pizzas, Sam and the Swingtones, Ragged Robin Florist and Coast to Coast Tipis.

Visitors will all receive a free glass of bubbly on entry and a goodie bag on their way out.

The fair is taking place on September 10 from 11am to 3pm at the Gallops in Hingham.

Entry is free but, due to limited parking, booking is essential on Eventbrite.
