A charity is looking to make its new musical festival an annual event after its first one this year was declared a big success.
With Latitude and the nearby Weeting Steam Rally all on in the same weekend, the East Coast Truckers Music Festival might have been forgiven for not getting a look-in.
Yet despite the competition and the charity’s first time of holding the event, nearly 2,000 people attended over the three days of the event from Friday, July 18 through to Sunday, July 20.
Cash raised from the event will go towards the East Coast Truckers organisation, which provides memorable days out for disabled and disadvantaged children.
Event manager Ray Sarsby, who organised the event with Derek Thorndyke, said: “For our first attempt of doing the event, it has gone fairly well.
“Several people have asked us if we want to do one next year.
“All the bands played for free and they were up-and-coming bands.
“We just wanted to raise some funds for the charity and keep the things going for children.”
The charity is able to offer free holidays to children with its two venues along the Norfolk coast, as well as buy specialist equipment when needed.
The event held at The Angel Inn, Larling showcased local bands as well as those from further afield.
There was also a chance for families to enjoy refreshments and activities such as face painting and a bouncy castle.
