As the winter months draw in, now is the perfect time to cosy up in the pub for a traditional Sunday roast. So loosen those belts because here are ten of our top choices for the ultimate weekend feast across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Warwick Street Social, Norwich

In the heart of Norwich’s Golden Triangle sits the Warwick Street Social. This is a chic destination with cutting edge interior design, placing the emphasis on modern aesthetics combined with a locally sourced menu in a relaxed urban setting. The Sunday menu stars a roast rump of beef, sea salt crackling belly pork and chorizo sea trout to name just a few. Be sure not to miss the beef dripping roast potatoes. The blackcurrant parfait with apple meringue sponge with cinnamon oat crumb and a blackberry gel also has our taste buds tingling. Sunday lunch is served from 12pm through to 3.30pm.

Bear & Bells, Beccles

For a cosy, casual atmosphere and top notch pub grub this is the perfect Suffolk spot for a Sunday lunch. Alongside a good selection of beers, you can expect healthy portions, classic roasts done at their best and a friendly welcome. Sunday lunch served from 12 to 3pm.

The Wildebeest, Stoke Holy Cross

The South Norfolk Village of Stoke Holy Cross is home to The Wildebeest, a country pub dedicated to fine dining and the best seasonal produce. This is contemporary cooking at its finest. A dedicated Sunday Lunch menu offers tempting classics such as roast English beef sirloin with all the trimmings, including Yorkshire puddings and a red wine jus, or smoked Norfolk venison haunch. More adventurous alternatives include pan roast Monkfish tail and Nocella olive and roasted red pepper served with charred potato and confit beetroot, perfect for vegetarians. Sunday lunch served from 12 until 3pm.

The Dial House, Reepham

Tucked away in the marketplace of Reepham, The Dial House is a Grade II listed country hotel that delivers intimate dining in a cosy setting, promising Sunday roasts cooked on the AGA. Here, you can dine next to a roaring wood burner and indulge in lovingly home cooked food. Sunday diners have the option of roasted chicken breast with sautéed leeks, chorizo & butterbean cassoulet and a parmesan crumb or roasted pheasant breast served with cider and bacon braised lentils amongst other options. Sunday lunch is available from 12 noon to 4.30pm.

The Reindeer Pub & Kitchen, Norwich

With a bar that boasts over 22 craft beers and an emphasis on good British produce, The Reindeer is a fantastic spot for any food and beer lover. This gastropub’s Sunday menu favourites include the leek, brie and red onion marmalade tart with roast trimmings and vegetarian gravy and the Norfolk Dingley Dell Pork leg, followed by a classic sticky toffee pudding. Along with the Sunday menu comes a carefully selected wine of the month to complement your food. Sunday lunch served from 12pm through to 8pm.

The Temple Bar, Norwich

Situated on Unthank Road, this Irish pub known for its sports offers a selection of meat and vegetarian options for their Sunday roast every week. Five different meat options are available including the popular beef brisket. For vegetarians, their vegan roast comes highly recommended. Booking is advised since these roasts are known to attract crowds of hungry punters. Sunday lunch is available from 12 noon to 5pm.

The Green Dragon, Wymondham

As one of the oldest pubs in the country, this medieval public house smacks of history and delivers the traditional pub experience. The bar showcases the best of local and national ales as a celebration of Norfolk’s thriving brewing community. In terms of food, the Green Dragon offers pub grub classics served with their own twist. For traditional roasts, beef, pork belly, lamb and a vegetarian option are yours to choose from with all the trimmings. For sausage lovers, pigs in blankets are also included alongside homemade Yorkshire puddings. It doesn’t hurt that the portions are known to be particularly generous. Sunday lunch served until 8pm.

The Duck Inn, King’s Lynn

The Duck Inn is a family run gastropub that boasts best roast on the coast with their Sunday menu of local pork and Holkham Estate beef. They champion local suppliers and bring you the best of Norfolk right on your plate. If you think you’ve got the room for it, don’t miss the cod cheeks with vanilla, chorizo and Brancaster cockles, leeks and caviar to start. Sunday lunch 12pm until 7.45pm.

Stoke Mill Contemporary Fine Dining, Stoke Holy Cross

Set in a beautiful converted windmill overlooking the River Tas, Stoke Mill Contemporary Fine Dining offers award winning food. Their Sunday menu consists of enticing options such as local paddocks of Sirloin beef and chicken breast with wild mushrooms, crispy potato cake and a red wine jus. If you’re feeling particularly indulgent, satisfy that sweet tooth with desserts including warm treacle tart, apple and cinnamon crumble and many more. For a classy Sunday lunch in picturesque surroundings, this is the spot. Sunday Lunch served 12pm until 2.30pm.

The Burston Crown, Burston

The Crown is a proper country pub affair. The 16th century building features large fireplaces and beautiful oak beams, creating an authentic rustic atmosphere. The pub is now in its 238th year of serving food so it does know a thing or two about pleasing customers. It is the perfect set up to while away a winter’s afternoon in a warm and inviting setting. The pub even has its own smokehouse, giving their meats their own signature taste. Be sure to sample the roast chicken supreme with roast pumpkin and hasselback potatoes following their pigeon and pork terrine to start. Food served on Sunday 12pm- 4pm.
