A new play will feature the trials and triumphs of a talking newspaper group.

The play was written by Tony Vale, chairman of the Wymondham and Attleborough Talking Newspaper WATN group and member of the playwriting group Four by Four.

Mr Vale said the play explored the “behind the microphone” difficulties encountered by the fictional Riddlestone and District Talking Newspaper.

Georgette Vale, WATN secretary, said: “The play is a tongue in cheek way of raising awareness of the talking newspaper service, which helps keep those with sight loss in touch with their local community.”

WATN will record its 1000th edition later this year. It is a free service for people with sight loss.

Performances will be at Wymondham’s Central Hall on March 3 at 7.30pm and on March 4 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £7, to book call 01953 861336 or by them at the door.
