Having got back to winning ways in dramatic fashion thanks to Tom Poole’s last-minute try and conversion against West Norfolk, Wymondham will be hoping to build on the victory on Saturday.

But they know it won’t be easy at local rivals Thetford, who have continued their rich vein of form from last season and find themselves in the top three of the new league.

Selection has proved a headache. Lee Bartlett is nursing his injury from West Norfolk while Jamie Boggan, Andy Mackay, Shaun Rix and Onisimo Sigakalele are all unavailable.

However, Ian James earns his first start in the front row while Ollie Coleman, Charlie Duffin, Ollie Wright and Josh Cousens return and Tom Baxter makes his first appearance of the campaign.

Coach Dave Howard said: “After last week we are back in the mixer and on the right track. Mass unavailability has made for an interesting week but we will prepare with full focus and ensure we have the grit needed.”
