Heavy downpours and standing water have wreaked havoc across Norfolk’s roads and rail network.

Train passengers are being warned that Greater Anglia services to and from Cromer will be delayed or cancelled at the last minute due to flooding at the seaside town.

Services affected include North Walsham to Sheringham which has been suspended.

Rail tickets are being accepted on Sanders of Holt buses 44 and 55

Earlier today, motorists were urged to avoid the Hardwick roundabout in King’s Lynn after a crash and the B1105 was blocked in both directions at Wells, near the A149 junction, after a car overturned.

Elsewhere, the A17 at Clenchwarton was blocked after a crash and a section of the A140 was closed for an hour this morning after two vehicles were involved in an accident.

The A140 crash happened at 11am close to Foundry plant centre at Tasburgh and involved a Hyundai IX35 and Skoda Fabia, with one of the vehicles ending up in a ditch.

One of the drivers sustained minor injuries following the crash in the Norwich-bound land of the single carriageway.

Meanwhile, there were reports of long delays on the A11 before Barton Mills and towards Thetford.

A Norfolk police spokesman said there were no reports of any accidents on that stretch of the road and believed the traffic was by the sheer weight of traffic on a Bank Holiday weekend.

Crews from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were called to treat a man in his 40s following a motorcycle accident on the A11 between Wymondham and Attleborough.

The air ambulance crews joined paramedics to treat the man, who had sustained a leg injury, before he was transported to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

  • Not always so easy to avoid bad drivers when they come towards you after overtaking on a bend, this happens all the time on the a146.

  • There are bad drivers on the road as we all well know.... the art for rest of us drivers is trying to avoid them and making us better drivers as a result...

  • Heavy rain doesn't lead to crashes, excess speed, not driving to the conditions or distractions do.
