A Norwich man jailed for a string of distraction burglaries is being sought by police after he breached the terms of his release from prison.

Luke Wall, 33, was jailed for seven-and-a-half years at Norwich Crown Court in 2011 after he tricked his way into the homes of elderly and vulnerable victims.

But he is now wanted on recall to prison after breaching the terms of his licence and police have appealed for the public’s help in finding him.

He had admitted burglary at the home of a 94-year-old widow in Theobald Road, in Norwich. He gained entry after claiming that he needed to turn her water off and stole £50 in cash and her dead husband’s wedding ring.

He also admitted tricking his way into the home of a 85-year-old pensioner at Flempton, in Suffolk and stealing her savings of £2,300.

Wall had asked for 37 similar offences to be taken into consideration and Norwich Crown Court heard many of his victims were in their 80s and 90s and lived on their own.

In each case Wall pretended something was wrong with the water supply and used that as an excuse to gain entry to his victims’ homes before stealing cash or jewellery.

He operated all over the county from King’s Lynn and Dereham to Diss and Loddon.

Wall is described as being white, of a slim build, with short brown hair and short facial hair.

Anyone with any information about his whereabouts should contact police as soon as possible on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
