Obstacles including climbing walls, balance beams and scramble nets would be constructed in the field south of Norwich Road, near to the Thickthorn Park and Ride.

The plans submitted to South Norfolk Council by Brad Williams, director of Norfolk-based 121 Gym, which provides personal training services, would include a boot camp using locally sourced equipment, such as tractor tyres and cargo nets.

They also include proposals for an outdoor gym and a children’s play area with a running and walking track along the circumference on the site.

There would be no permanent buildings as part of the development with the reception housed in a single portable cabin and portaloos on the site.

The plans submitted state the site would operate seven days a week between 6.30am and 11.30am and then from 2.30pm and 6.30pm Monday to Friday with extended hours at the weekend.
