The building of a new supermarket in Wymondham is moving quickly - with the store expected to open on time in summer.

The new Morrisons will be built in Postmill Close, off Norwich Road.

It is set to be “medium-sized” and will create around 200 new jobs.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “The build is progressing well, and will be ready for the summer opening of the store.”

Planning permission for the supermarket was granted by South Norfolk Council at a special meeting in November last year after public consultation.

Joe Mooney, county councillor for Wymondham, said: “I am delighted to hear that the building works on the site are progressing well.

“It will be an excellent addition to Wymondham’s current retail offering.”

  • I for one cannot wait. Hopefully no more travelling to norwich for weekly shop, or alternatively using the rip-off co-op in town :)
