A village primary school has been told that a “harmonious atmosphere prevails” in its corridors.

Ofsted inspectors told Great Ellingham Primary School that it remains a good school in its first follow-up inspection since it was given the rating in April 2012.

Inspectors praised the school’s focus on superheroes, which encourages pupils to show perseverance and resilience.

“[The school] is rightly recognised by parents and pupils as a place where all are welcome and a harmonious atmosphere prevails throughout,” they said after the visit in November.

A statement from the school council said: “As a school family, we were really pleased with the outcome of being seen as a good school.

“However, this does not stop us wanting to become even better. We want our school to be the best it can be and we are now on an exciting journey towards that goal.”

They said they were now aiming to become outstanding.
