Two men arrested on suspicion of hare coursing have now been charged.

Police were called at 10.30am on Sunday, November 5 to reports of men with dogs and a vehicle in fields near Great Ashfield, between Bury St Edmunds and Diss.

Officers attended and after a search of the area stopped a vehicle in Wetherden containing two men and dogs.

The vehicle, a blue Peugeot 407 estate, and two dogs were seized under the Hunting Act.

William Johnston, aged 38, of Northampton Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire has been charged with hunting a wild mammal with a dog.

Anthony Webster, aged 37, of Holywell Row, near Mildenhall, has been charged with aiding and abetting the hunting of a wild mammal with a dog.

Both men have been bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on January 8 next year.
