RG Carter offered Attleborough Academy’s sixth form students an insight into the challenges facing designers and engineers through a day of interactive activities.

After an informative presentation, teams of students were tasked with building a weight bearing bridge from only paper, string and tape. The winning bridge carried an impressive load and was rewarded with a box of chocolates.

Carmina McConnell, assistant principal, said: “We are always looking to increase opportunities for our sixth form students and develop their skills to meet the needs of workplace. Through the link we have built with RG Carter, students have increased their understanding of the range of employment possibilities available in the construction and civil engineering industry.”
