A key road through the heart of Norfolk will be closed overnight for two weeks so that new signs can be installed.

The A11 will be shut between the Wymondham bypass and Attleborough bypass at Crowshall Lane from 8pm until 6am on weeknights for a fortnight from Monday (January 15).

Highways England, which looks after Britain’s motorways and A-roads, said the closures were necessary to “remove and replace overhead signage”.

It said a clearly signed diversion would be in place.

The closure comes at the same time as workers cut back trees and clear vegetation on the verge of the A11 between Attleborough and Norwich.

The work is being done overnight, between 8pm and 6am, with road closures put in place to allow workmen to safely carry out their task.

Similar work is taking place on the A11 in Cambridgeshire.
