In honour of the coronation, a care home will be opening its doors for a community event for the first time since the pandemic.

The activities team at Hassingham House Residential Care Home in Hingham, near Wymondham, will be hosting a special coronation coffee morning.

Helen Mallett, who works on the team, said: “The last few years have been very difficult for us all, what with the pandemic, and our residents are only just getting used to having the home open to the public.

“This will be our first open event with the community and the more people that attend this day the happier the residents will be.

“This will be a wonderful day, especially for the residents and staff, who have worked extremely hard to get this event to happen.”

During the morning’s event, which takes place on Wednesday, May 3, there will be a plaque unveiling in memory of Queen Elizabeth II and a tree planted in honour of King Charles III.
